Is an x-ray Necessary for a Twisted Ankle?

by admin
Lateral foot x-ray
Lateral foot x-ray

An x-ray should be taken for a twisted and sprained ankle. Different bones are at danger of fracture depending on the degree of the damage. Your ankle and foot should be imaged at the very least. All of the ankle’s bones should be examined for fractures. At times, an x-ray taken higher in the leg may be necessary.

Foot x-rays are also required to confirm there are no broken bones. Several tendons pass through the ankle and connect to the bones of the foot. When you sprain your ankle, the tendons strain on the bones in an unnatural way. The bones may break as a result of the unexpected stress.

All foot and ankle fractures must be treated as soon as possible. If you sprain your ankle or damage your foot or ankle in any manner, see Dr. Ejodamen Shobowale of DeNiel Foot and Ankle Center, right away.
