Is There A Correct Way to Run?

Road runners
Road runners

The running gait of each runner is distinctive. Some people strike with their heels, while others strike with their midfoot. Some have a long stride, while others have a short one. While every running gait has commonalities, there is no correct or incorrect way to run.

You must discover the best running gait for you. Many people get hurt by imitating how others run or following suggestions on when they should run. Houston is lucky to have an overabundance of running coaches, and we would be pleased to connect you with one to get you started on the right track.

There should be no pain for any runner. A slight change in your motion, running surface, or shoes will often alleviate ankle, foot, leg, and knee pain. Your Houston running podiatrist can evaluate your situation and provide recommendations to help you free of pain as soon as possible.
