My Achilles Tendon Hurts | Will Stretching Help?

Stretching can help with Achilles tendon pain
Stretching can help with Achilles tendon pain

Stretching is a crucial part of any tendon injury treatment, particularly the Achilles tendon. Stretching helps to move muscle fibers and reduce inflammation. You can, however, overstretch. Stretching through pain should be avoided at all costs. To avoid aggravating your Achilles tendon by overworking it, back off a little.

The majority of people just stretch before working out. Before stretching, it’s a good idea to warm up a little. After you finish your exercise, you should stretch again. Even if you do not run or exercise on a given day, you should always perform your fundamental stretching regimen.

DeNiel Foot and Ankle Center is a foot and ankle clinic in Houston, TX that serves the surrounding communities of Cypress and Katy.  Ejodamen Shobowale, DPM and her highly trained staff provide individualized, comprehensive care for all of your podiatry and sports medicine needs.
