Athlete’s foot, also known as tinea pedis, is an infection of the skin of the foot. Athlete’s foot is most usually caused by a fungal infection, although it can also be caused by a bacterial infection. Normally, fungi and bacteria dwell on our feet, but they are opportunists. Unfortunately, we give them far too many chances to infect.
Moisture between the toes is a typical cause of athlete’s foot. This occurs as a result of profuse sweating, which is frequent in Houston. It can also happen if you don’t thoroughly dry between your toes after bathing. The skin beneath the foot can also be affected by athlete’s foot. This is due to dry skin cracking and allowing the fungus to invade. The greatest prevention against having dry skin is to condition the skin with a good moisturizing cream.
