A Morton’s neuroma has formed and caused part of your toes to become numb. The second, third, and/or fourth toes are frequently affected. A neuroma between the metatarsal bones causes pain in the ball of the foot, according to a Houston podiatrist treating Morton’s neuroma in the foot. Because the nerve runs into the surrounding toes, it numbs those toes as well.
The numbness in the toes might be relieved by reducing pressure on the neuroma. Metatarsal support can be added to a custom orthotic device or placed directly on the foot to achieve this. The brace distributes the metatarsal bones and relieves nerve pressure. It is also beneficial in reducing pain.
Other causes of numbness, such as peripheral neuropathy, should be investigated, so make an appointment with your Houston Podiatrist at DeNiel Foot & Ankle Center.
