If you’ve ever had chemotherapy, you’re aware of the multiple side effects it may have on your body. Most people lose their hair. Chemotherapy can also affect the nails, which have a similar chemical composition to hair.
Chemotherapy might cause your nails to fall out in some cases. When this occurs, it is typically painless. Occasionally, the nails become noticeably weaker. Both of these, together with a weakened immune system, might result in a fungal infection of the nails. While you can treat this infection with topical medicine, such as Formula 3, during chemotherapy, additional treatments should be avoided until the chemotherapy is completed and you have recovered your strength.
