How Long Does A Broken Foot Bone Take to Heal?

Broken foot bone on x-ray

A broken foot bone should mend in six to eight weeks as a general rule. No matter how hard you try to rush the healing process so you can resume jogging and other forms of exercise, your body sets the pace. You may help by properly caring for the fractured foot and following Dr. Shobowale’s advice.

There are 26 bones in each foot with a mix of long bones and more irregular ones. The foot is similarly at the very end of the circulatory system, with only the tiniest veins supplying blood to the bones. Healing times will vary depending on these circumstances.

If you get your foot checked and treated very away, it has the highest chance of healing properly. Waiting to see if it “heals on its own” can lead to complications, such as a broken foot bone requiring surgery. Make an appointment with DeNiel Foot & Ankle Center right away. We will make certain that your fractured foot heals as rapidly as possible. Let’s get you back into the swing of things!
