Why is it referred to as a Plantar Wart?

Wart on the bottom of the foot
Wart on the bottom of the foot

The bottom of the foot is referred to as “plantar.” So, a wart on the bottom of the foot is called a plantar wart! It is also known as a planters wart or verruca plantaris.  A wart can appear everywhere on the body, but a plantar wart appears solely on the foot.

A podiatrist in Houston can help with your plantar wart. The skin on bottom of the foot is thicker than the rest of the body. Because of this, many treatments that work on other parts of the body may not be as effective on warts beneath the foot.

If you want to remove your wart completely and effectively, contact the Ejodamen Shobowale, DPM of DeNiel Foot and Ankle Center.
