Runners desire to continue running. Most runners are hesitant to visit our Houston podiatry office for fear of being told to stop running. The problem with that logic is if they arrived earlier before the problem had become unbearable, I would not have told them to stop running… but now I must.
Of course, there are times when you have no choice but to stop jogging. Stress fractures, severe sprains, tendon ruptures, and fractures are among them. Continuing to run with these injuries is a danger waiting to happen! The injury will worsen, and surgery may be required to heal and rectify it.
I rarely advise you to quit jogging if you have overuse running injuries like shin splints, heel pain, or Achilles tendonitis. However, you must visit my center soon because if your injury worsens, you may need to stop jogging altogether.
DeNiel Foot & Ankle Center in Houston can help you if you have foot or ankle discomfort that becomes worse when you run. Dr. Shobowale will do a thorough examination and make recommendations for the best treatment to get you back on your feet pain-free.
